The State of Virginity

The State of Virginity
I should like you to be free of all worries. The unmarried man is busy with the Lord's affairs, concerned with pleasing the Lord; but the married man is busy with this world's demands and occupied with pleasing his wife. This means he is divided. The virgin - indeed, any unmarried woman - is concerned with things of the Lord, in pursuit of holiness in body and spirit. The married woman, on the other hand, has the cares of this world to absorb her and concerned with pleasing her husband. I am going into this with you for your own good. I have no desire to place restrictions on you, but I do want to promote what is good, what will help you to devote yourselves entirely to the Lord. 1 Corinthians 7:32-35

QUOTATIONS FROM THE BIBLE

God is our refuge and our strength,
an ever-present help in distress.
Therefore we fear not, though the
earth be shaken
and mountains plunge into the
depths of the sea;
Though its waters rage and foam
and the mountains quake at its surging.
The Lord of hosts is with us;
our stronghold is the God of Jacob.
(Psalm 46: 2-4)

Fear not when a man grows rich,
when the wealth of his house becomes great,
For when he dies, he shall take none of it;
his wealth shall not follow him down.
Though in his lifetime he counted
himself blessed,
"They will praise you for doing well
for yourself,"
He shall join the circle of his forebears
who shall never more see light.
Man, for all his splendour, if
he have not prudence,
resembles the beasts that perish.
(Psalm 49: 17-21)

The Lord watches over the life of
the wholehearted;
their inheritance lasts forever,
They are not put to shame in an
evil time;
in days of famine they have
plenty.
But the wicked perish,
and the enemies of the Lord, like
the beauty of the meadows,
vanish; like smoke they vanish.
(Psalm 37:18-20)

The wicked man plots against
the just
and gnashes his teeth at them;
But the Lord laughs at him,
for he sees that his day is coming.
A sword the wicked draw; they bend
their bow
to bring down the afflicted and
the poor,
to slaughter those whose path
is right.
But their swords shall pierce
their own hearts,
and their bows shall be broken.
(Psalm: 37:12-15)

Commit to the Lord your way;
trust in him, and he will act.
He will make justice dawn for you
like the light;
bright as the noonday shall be
your vindication.
(Psalm 37:5-6)

The salvation of the just is from
the LORD;
he is their refuge in time of
distress.
And the LORD helps them and
delivers them;
he delivers them from the wicked
and saves them,
because they take refuge in him.
(Psalm 37:39-40)
